These are some things that I can relate to Jack by.
First thing is that in basically all the chapters Jack has a bloody nose, I can relate to that but it wasn't me getting the bloody nose it was my brother Moses. Whenever we were in the car for to long or there was dry air my brother moses would get a bloody nose.In Chapter 1 Jack was playing with his dads Jap stuff and his mom didn't tell Jacks dad about it, I can relate to that because sometimes I would find my younger sister borrowing some socks from my mom when we weren't suppose to and I wouldn't tell because I was nervous.In Chapter 2 Jack was told by his mom that he would be helping out Mrs.Volker, I can relate to that because whenever a neighbor needs some helping hands my mom always offers me to go over and help.  In Chapter 5 Jack was being chased by his mom because he cut down all her corn, I can relate to that because sometimes when my younger sister takes my things I have to chase her around the block. In Chapter 15 Jack made a deal with Mr.Spizz which was if Jack went and got some poison for Mr.Spizz, Mr.Spizz wouldn't report the air plane runway in there backyard. I can relate to that because I sometimes make a deal with my brothers and switch chores with them.

I related to this book when Jack had to get up at 6 in the morning because my mom  has to get me up in the morning because she has to get up a 6 in the morning and im always tired when i have to go to school.I can also relate to this book in the way that im really really nervous about alot.Miss.Volker reminded me of one of my past freinds(i use that term losely) ,very snappy,mean and kinda weird because he would boss us around and would not pay attencion in class.Jack reminds me of me very sad when he cant do what i want when i am not doing chores around the house,He loves animals (except rats ) and i love all animals(I probabley wont go near some but you probabley gat what i mean).That is how i relate to this book.

When I read this book it made me feel that Jack and I have one thing in common,telling our mom not to tell our dad what we did. Jack reminds me of my cousin because of the nose bleeds.She has it maybe like once a month or more.Jack has by being shocked,nervous and scared.How Jack's dad tells Jack to do something but his mom doesn't want him to,that is the same with me because my mom tells me to do something but my dad tells me to do the opposite of what she says.I don't know why parents to that but I guess they just do. How Jack helps Mrs.Volker I would probably help my neighbor to and if my neighbor was melting her hands like Mrs.Volker,I would of ran out of there.I don't know how he could stay there and not run out. How Jack doesn't listen to his mom well for me it's opposite I don't listen to my dad all the time,sometimes when my dad says no I just go to my mom and ask her.When Jack doesn't listen to when people say don't touch this and that,I just use it just like Jack does that is what he did when he used the rifle.

 I relate to Jack Gantos in 2 ways.Number 1:I always get into trouble. Pages throughout the book shows him getting in trouble from people(mostly his mother).But the reason he gets into trouble is because he does things that are not very smart,sometimes they aren't smart at all. Like some pages are 11, 19 , 46, 51 ,79,80, and 81. Those are only from about one quarter of the book. I mean I would have probably done some of the things he did but not all of them. I get in trouble from as simple as not doing my chore to not listening to my mom. Sure I shouldn't do that but hey I can blame it on being naive. Page 45 is something I definitely think was doing something that was not smart. How is he supposed to get the money.Number 2:Our dad's are not around a lot. His dad is in the military and my dad just never shows up. This reminds me a lot about my life. Yes they are not the same thing. One is saving a country from mass destruction and one just doesn't care to show up. This is hard on kids. Not having your parent around all of the time.They miss dance recitals, baseball games, things that are important to the kid. Why parents do this to kids I don't know. But as you start to miss things in your childs life,years of your childs life the love they once had for you just disappears.

 On page 18 when Jack has to wake up at 6:00 am to help Mrs.Volker and he was super tired and didn't
 want to wake up but his Mom made him wake up. This situation reminds me of the morning on Mondays I
 am always so tired and sleepy in the morning. Sometimes when it is morning I say, "No 1 more hour" and I
 keep on saying this until 7:30 am then my parents come down to wake me up. The story I just told you is
 simular because Jack's Mom woke him up but she does it at 6:00am before he goes to sleep again . I
 understand Jack not wanting to wake up because it is so hard to do at least for me it is.
 Jack's best friend bunny reminds me of Chiara Frennette,it reminds of her because both of them are smart,couragious,daring,and not afraid of dead people and the 2 are also very athletic.

Pretend you are Jack and your mother just said "I"ll pretend like i'm your taller girlfriend". How do you react? Why is that your reaction?

Helli's Relate. 

One way I can relate to Jack was when he ran away from his mother in Chapter 5 when she was on a bike riding right towards him and he tried to run away from her, I can relate to this because when I was around 4 or 5 I would try to run away from my parents when I was about to get into trouble. 

Another way I am able to relate to Jack was when Jack stayed in his room for a while after being chased by his mother into his room. The reason to why I'm able to relate to that is because I go to my room when I get frustrated and mad and it helps me to calm down if I just lie down in peace and quiet. 

  In Chapter 7 Jack's mother takes him to Dr.Mertz's hospital so he could have some treatment to help his nose bleeding problem but they left the hospital with no treatment done. I can relate to that because one time my parents took me to drumheller and we went to go look at the the amazing hoodoo's they have there and we walked to a store close by for some souvenirs but it wasn't open and my parents really wanted to go there.

I am also able to relate to Jack when Mrs.Volker asked him to help her in Chapter 2 and be there for 6:00 in the morning but he didn't want to go and I have been asked by not my neighbors but my parents have asked me to help them to clean our house and I didn't want to clean the house at all especially in the morning (I don't remember what time they asked me to wake up though). 

Jack sort of reminds me of my own brother in a way because Jack is a kid that likes to sit in his room a lot and he's a mystical kind of guy meaning you never know what he's going to do or what he's doing.

There's lots i can relate to Jack, first is when Jack wasn't supposed to touch or play with things

he wasn't allowed to play with in chapter 1-2. When I was little every time my family brings home games or clothes even movies,I would go look at it or play with it. Second is when Jack ran away from

 his mom in chapter 5. When I was in grade #3 or #4 every time I was about to get in trouble by my mom I would always run away and go somewhere like my friends home ,or I would go to the park 

,or even just go around town or city then after I get bored I would go home and sneak into my bedroom.

Third is when Jack doesn't like to do chores. He only wanted to do chores because he would get a car if he did everything his mom wanted him to do. I'm like him, I would only do chores when I get something off of it that I want, but if I don't I am just lazy and sometimes I would do them when I have nothing else to do.

Jack is a 12 year old kid in Norvelt who is loaned out to neighbour Mrs.Volker. He is doing a job for Mrs.Volker where Mrs.Volker has obituaries and he types them down to send to the News. Jack nose bleeds at every shock he gets or if he is nervous or if he is lying. Jack is grounded for he summer by his Mom for mowing her crop of corn but he can still go to help Mrs.Volker.
