Jack cut the corn by mowing it on a tractor and when his mom saw that he was mowing the corn she when insane out of her mind she got angry and grounded him for his whole life and he has to do chores more and help Miss Volker and when he cut the corn mre right after she had warned him not to do it anymore he cut it and his mom got more angry and when she saw that Jack escaped from the garage she probably kicked down the garage door and got a bike and when towards the baseball field where jack was and dragged him across the field and grounded him.
Jack had cut down the corn because his dad was making a landing road for his J-3 and he wanted to make a bomb shelter incase Norvelt gets bombed by the Russians. When Jack's mom noticed that Jack cut down all the corn she told him he was grounded for the rest of the summer and he could only leave his room to do chores or go to the bathroom. But if he was lucky he might have been able to have the privilege of eating dinner with is mother and father and she said Jack could tell Mr.Huffer he was no longer on the team.
