She mean't when your having a hard time in life it's better to just die right there and not have to live through hard times in life that everyone has. Or another way to look at it is because when you're dead you won't feel anything so it's better then being in a rough position in life.
I think she meant that if you life is terrible than going to the after life would be better, but I wouldn't want to die because life is terrible I would just wait for a change and until then I would try to make my life better.

ReplyDeleteI think she means that when your older living in a town like Norvelt can be hard. So it may be better for them to just die off.
