I would not because a secret is a secret and I think that mom would find out anyway about the flying lessons. Another reasn is that if Jack's mom finds out she should not feel like it matters to her.
I wouldn't tell my mom because if I do I don't know how my dad will react and he might ground me for years and probably make me do chores everyday and not let me go outside.
