I thought it was kind of sad because that was Mrs.Volker's sister's house and Jack is very close to Mrs.Volker so it was probably pretty sad for him too. Also that was the only thing that Mrs.Volker had of her sister in Norvelt even though she could fly over to Florida but still she probably made lots of memories and that house and now it's gone for good.
Well in my opinion that it was sad because Miss Volkers sisters house is burnt down and Jack knows miss Welker pretty well now for hanging out with her and it would probably be sad for him too
I would say this is only a house and it didn't die it was only scorched so why are you writing this for us?
