I would have stayed calm because if you worry to much that could make Jack's dad worried and then he might not focus and loose control of the J-3 / plane. I definitely don't think Jack's mom should have been worried at all either but when Jack's dad threw his shoe down and hit a house I would be mad at him but I wouldn't go all crazy like Jack's mom did I would keep my cool and stay calm.
If I was Jack I would've made my mom to calm down because if she keeps yelling she might break Jack's dad's consecration nd he might crash so don't yell when someone's piloting a plane and while there in the air so you don't lose their concentration. So they don't loose focus, that's the opposite of what Jack's mom did she kept yelling and being over dramatic.
Yes, it is completely fine for Jack's mom to be worried about Jack's dad because it is the first time he is taking a flight in the J3. But I would not be scared or nervous for Jack's dad because I personally think that he is a great flier and has inspected the plane very well before taking off.
