Jack was terrified and worried about what Jack's mother and father would do about "shooting Mrs.Volker".
After Jack shot the rifle. He thought he shot Mrs.Volker he was terrified and shock and scared because he's worried what his mom will do to him.
He was scared and terrified because he was scared if his mom would find out and if he was going to get in trouble.
